Tajé Prest: Health & Fitness Tip Of The Week – Staying Healthy On Holiday!

I know all too well how tough it is to stay healthy on holiday; at this very moment I am curled up in bed in my room in Ghana, thinking of how I need to avoid trying all the different Ghanaian delicacies and drinks later today. Ghana is a very interesting place. I don’t think I can get over their accents! But I do love their food! So here are a few tricks I’m doing to stay healthy while I’m out here and you could do too.

Pack your gym outfits, at least two. If you skip exercising the first day your gym clothes will haunt you every morning when you try to pick an outfit for the day and you’ll eventually have to give in.

Drink as much water as possible, at least 1.5litres. This keeps you hydrated and washes away all the toxins you put in your body from all the ‘tastes’ and ‘tries’ you may have during the day.

Pouring water into glass

Find fruit and eat as much as possible. Keeps you healthy and full so you eat less junk.

Add veggies to every meal you have. When you’re eating out on holiday almost every meal gives you the option of adding veggies. Say ‘YES! to it and add a little extra too.

Walk everywhere possible. If there’s a safe walking option then walk it out! It will burn those calories. If you have the option to swim as well swim, swim, swim!!! (I’ve been doing that out here).
These tips will help you avoid piling on those holiday pounds. Go ahead try it,
I promise you’ll love it.
