The World's first Size 22 Model Covers PEOPLE Magazine

Tess is on her way to being the most sort after plus size model in the history of plus size modelling.  So move over, Karlie and Kendall; Tess Holliday is the supermodel of the moment. The curvy beauty is making a major mark in her career as she takes the world of fashion by storm and covers People Magazine.

 
Its being all busy for the Milk Models signed model yoo! She has turned it out for Yours Clothing, Domino Dollhouse, Monif C, and most recently she landed major campaigns with Benefit Cosmetics and Torrid. Since becoming the first size-22 model to sign with a major agency back in January, Tess Holliday's life has been a whirlwind – but she doesn't mind one bit.

"My phone still hasn't stopped ringing," Holliday, 29, tells PEOPLE magazine. "It's good, but it's a lot!. I just got back from London three weeks ago," she says. "I'm going to New York this week, then next week I'm going to Montreal and New York again. Then I go to Seattle, New Orleans and Vegas after that, all for work!"

Success has been a long time coming for Holliday, who first tried to get into plus-size modeling more than 14 years ago. But,

"Nobody was interested," she says of her first open casting when she was 15. "I got one call back and they said, 'Look, you have a pretty face, but you're too short and you're too big.' "

Not only did she face rejection from the modeling world, but from her own peers, who bullied her relentlessly about her weight back in her hometown of Laurel, Mississippi.

"I was getting shoved into lockers, I was being called names," she says. "I was getting death threats at my house. It was awful."

Despite all the adversity she faced, Holliday never gave up on her dreams to make it as a model.

"I just knew that I could do it," she says. "I wasn't the best, and I still am not the best. The key to it is just doing it."

In a blog for People, Holliday explained her mission:

[My supporters] know, like I do, that there is no one way to be a woman, or to be beautiful. We all deserve a place. I believe this with all my heart. While modeling is my career, and my family is vitally important to me, I have this passion inside of me to help other women feel confident and comfortable in their bodies, regardless of their size or what society tells them is beautiful.

Watching Tess Holliday doing well and creating an awesome platform for body image and self-confidence with her striking good looks is so encouraging. Even though her tattoo-embellished, 5'5” and size-22 body is not what typically springs to mind when you hear “supermodel.”  But all thanks to her voluptuous figure and body-love mindset, Holliday has already gained a massive following, but with her latest achievement, she's about to see those numbers go stratospheric.
