Plus-size Model Ashley Graham, Designs Plus-Size Swimsuits Featuring String, Cut-Outs, and Body Jewelry

Ashley Graham is everywhere this year, from making history in February as the first plus-sized model to cover Sports Illustrated's Swimsuit Issue to making out with Joe Jonas in a new music video for his band DNCE.



Now, Graham is out with a swimwear collab with Swimsuitsforall, which launches today for sizes 10 to 24. Graham and Swimsuitsforall have a long history — in 2015, her Swimsuitsforall ad in Sports Illustrated became the first ad in the famed swimsuit mag to ever feature a curvy girl. But this is the first collection Graham's has actually designed for the brand, and we can definitely say that she leaned on her experience as a lingerie designer to design this one.




The 11 suits in the Ashley Graham x swimsuitsforall range are all about cutouts and zippers and even body jewelry. There's a $55 string bikini designed for curves, a $138 neoprene one-piece with zippers, and a $76 one-piece with intense straps. Perhaps the most interesting piece is the $398 (now on sale for $278) Intrigue Bikini which include built-in body chains laced with "over 520" Swarovski crystals.



These head-swiveling suits aren't the type of swimwear that are usually made for plus sizes; like blogger Gabi Gregg, who has also worked with Swimsuitsforall, Graham wanted to move plus-size swimwear in a more fashion-forward direction.

"I want women of all shapes and sizes to feel like they can buy themselves something special and luxurious. I want it to be empowering. I'm not out to make the token palm tree suits we see everywhere," she told Glamour.

If you're looking at some of the suits and thinking about wacky tan lines, Graham is way ahead of you. "This is for the fashion girl!" Graham. "She’s going to Vegas and doesn't care what her tan line looks like, because everyone is going to remember this suit."
