Aso-ebi Curves is a selection of gorgeously beautiful curvy women who are making heads turn in Nigerian fashion.
Like my previous post "Size Is Not A Factor" explains how important it is to look stylish and beautiful at any size, Aso-ebi Curves shares photos of beautiful curvy and plus-size ladies' aso-ebi outfits which can inspire our fashion sense. It shows that curves got style too.
Aso-ebi translated means “cloth of the family”.
It is used to refer to the outfits made from matching fabric and pattern worn by family members during a family ceremony to denote unity, support, and represent sides of the family.
Although, it now applies to anyone who can afford one or would like to wear one at a wedding ceremony or social event.
Aso-ebi fabrics are typically of Ankara or Lace material for the outfit with occasional head ties (gele) associated with it. Contrary to popular belief, the aso-ebi phenomena is not strictly a Nigerian thing but applies to many tribes and countries in Africa with the subtle difference in the name; not called aso-ebi across all countries.
