Talk about a whirlwind romance. Nwabueze and Ogechi were introduced by family friends! Emails turned to phone calls, which led to Skype video chats. Finally, the couple decided to have their first date in Dubai, UAE. It just happened that Nwabueze was there for a business meeting; Ogechi happily obliged to meet him out there and they hit it off. During their entire courtship, they lived in two different countries and flew every 2 months to visit each other! On Valentine's Day, February 14, 2012 in the Murtala Muhammad International airport in Lagos, Nigeria, Nwabueze placed a jewel on Ogechi’s finger, which has changed their lives forever.
Since they had a love affair that spanned continents, the jet setting couple decided with their wedding planner Darryl Wilson of D'Concierge Events that an aviation inspired, travel themed wedding would be perfect. Everything about their nuptials was spectacular starting with the couple’s entrance. Ogechi shares, “we rented a private plane to fly us in and land at the doorway of the reception venue. My husband exited the plane first, guided me down the wing of the plane, and proceeded to help with placement of my shoes as he knelt on bended knee on the red carpet. The guests were wowed and we were beyond full with excitement with the entire experience!”
After years of travel, long distance planning, and time apart, Nwabueze and Ogechi danced, posed with their Cessna, and enjoyed being together, surrounded by friends and family—finally home as husband and wife. Tomayia Colvin Photography captured every high flying moment!

Incorporation of Culture
In the Nigerian culture, the bride and groom's closest family and
friends wear uniformed colors to distinguish them from the guests.
Different shades of gold were worn by the women while the men wore
maroon. This group totaled more than 50 people and made the wedding very
colorful. We also incorporated the culture in the food. Dinner ranged
from Nigerian meat pies with plantain, to fried fish and beef, with
different assortments of rice, including jollof rice and coconut rice.
At the end of the reception, my husband and I changed into our native
attires and danced the night away.
