Love visits us in many ways. For
this curvy girl, Laide, she said,
I met my husband through a mutual friend. Gbemi went through his friend's phone and saw my picture on his BBM.
Laide and Gbemi’s Love story is quite charming. Laide, the bride shares
their story. Read on
He pestered him for my phone number
and called me that afternoon. I was really busy that Friday at work and
didn't feel like chatting.
Later in the evening I went to The
Place in Lekki Phase 1 to buy my dinner and ran into our mutual friend there. I
said hi and chatted for a bit then I noticed he was keeping me there with silly
gist.
Apparently he had called Gbemi to tell him I was with him. He left his office in VI and started rushing down to meet me.

I had no idea that's why he was
keeping me there. Gbemi came in like 30 minutes after. The 1st thing I noticed
was his blazer. He was wearing a brown suede blazer with dark brown trousers.
I'm a huge fan of stylish men who can pull off a suit. Lol.
The rest as you know it is history!! We connected immediately. It was magically. We just get each other.

The Proposal
As for the proposal, Gbemi went all
traditional and asked for my hand in marriage from my family directly. So I
don't have a cute proposal story to share lol. He's still paying for depriving
me of it
Traditional & The
White Wedding
The traditional wedding and the
wedding white were on the same day. Only immediate family and our bridal train
attended the traditional wedding in the morning. We wore gold monotone asooke
and I added a pop of color with my pink beads. My asooke was made by @bimmms24
she's a close friend of my family. It has pink stones and cream pearls on it.
It was beautiful, 1st of its kind actually. I literally jumped and screamed
when I saw it. My fav color is black so my bridesmaids wore black sequins with
white asooke to the traditional wedding. I broke away from the whole black is a
mourning color tradition.
The white wedding was held at our
Saviours Church in TBS and the reception was right beside it. I dressed up from
Potea Westwood on Awolowo cause of proximity. The color of the day was yellow
and it was beautiful. The hall was decorated in white with a hint of
yellow. It was gorgeous.
We invited just about 300 guests but prepared food and drinks for 500. There's nothing worse than a party without food and drinks. Everyone ate till they could barely move lol.
Laide’s Advice To Future Couples
My advice to those planning weddings
is try and delegate duties cause you can't do it all yourselves. To the brides
especially, please focus on your outfit, your photography and your makeup
artist. At the end of the day all you would have are your memories and the pictures.
Try not to stress on your wedding day, it's too late to change anything then.
Just be happy, smile and dance like no one is watching!!!We invited just about 300 guests but prepared food and drinks for 500. There's nothing worse than a party without food and drinks. Everyone ate till they could barely move lol.
